Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Administration, the Director of Yale Printing & Publishing Services is responsible for developing and managing a robust set of solutions to meet Yale’s diverse internal printing, design services, external procurement, fulfillment, multifunction printing devices and mailing needs. This includes managing a print related consultation unit, as well as a full-service $11.5 million print production unit, providing graphic design, digital print, copier rental, delivery, fulfillment, mail and web services to the Yale community.
Set strategic direction for the unit. Constantly monitor a wide array of current and emerging client print and print related needs and align the units’ products, services and customer service standards to successfully anticipate and meet/exceed those needs.
Provide direct oversight and leadership to all functions including financial, administrative, human resource, customer service, sales/marketing, consulting and production.
Deliver positive financial results with P&L responsibility for the fee-for-service, cost recovery unit with 41 full time employees and a $11.5 million budget.
Direct a consultation unit that develops and delivers a wide range of printing and print related services to meet the needs of the Yale faculty, staff, and students to adopt appropriate, successful printing related strategies.
Lead the analysis of printing and mailing technology and best practices. Successfully lead the planning and implementation of new business process and technology projects to ensure that Yale clients are being served efficiently and effectively.
Participates in and leads high level committees and work groups developing University -wide strategies and policies by setting direction and influencing various departments involved in the initiatives.
Develop and implement institutional printing policies and strategies, successfully cultivating relationships with key customers and administrative stakeholders across the University, including various student groups, faculty, and administrations in schools and administrative units.
Work closely with the University Printer to insure adherence to University policies and guidelines regarding printing styles, presentation, representation and the Yale brand.
Protect the University’s interests by insuring that operations are in compliance with University auditing procedures and USP guidelines.
